His Channel Four series on the New Elite exposed the nepotism at the heart of Blair’s government. Nick's book about New Labour, PRETTY STRAIGHT GUYS, was published in September 2003. WHAT'S LEFT, about the failures of the political left, was published in 2007 and was shortlisted for the 2008 George Orwell prize for political writing.
